Wolf Creek campers learned how to use binoculars before they went out to the Prairie to look for Wapiti. So, do you know what a Waiti is? Ask your camper!

Shane learned how bears mark their territory by scratching on the trees.

James was the redwood tree for his group. They learned MANY adaptations that have helped the redwood trees survive for thousands of years. We saw the Arco Giant which is 1,200 years old. Amazing!
Wolf Creek was the absolute best! We had lots of rain and lots of fun and lots of learning!!
James and Henry are checking out the prairie food web in an "up close and personal" sort of way. What do YOU think, herbivore or carnivore?
We all did lots of walking through the woods. And walking through the prairie. And walking around and over the creek. We just did lots of walking, period!

...and then we enjoy a day of reading with friends! Finally we open our Valentines and eat way too many treats! Hope your week off is great. Mrs. B

First, we get ready for Valentines Day...

Long time no blog! Sorry!

Here are a few shots of our planet interviews. It is amazing what you can learn about a planet if you just ask. Judging by the great scores on our astronomy tests I would say it helped to hear from the experts. Do you know which planets have moons and which don't? Or which planet is tilted sideways? Or why Mercury has so many craters and why Venus is the hottest planet? Just ask a student from Room 6 to find out.

Happy Holidays!

Our holiday gift exchange was one of the nicest I have had in years! Thank you to Room 6 kids for being so sweet and reasonable. I hope your vacation was super and I look forward to jumping back in to our fifth grade studies. Don't forget your Heritage Homework assignment. It is due on Thursday. See you soon, Mrs. B
